Design, construction of Shusha TV tower to cost AZN 494,000

The design and construction of the Shusha TV and Radio Broadcasting Station (TRS) will cost 494,000 manats, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan said.

It is reported that part of the required funds has already been paid to the contractor.

"Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva took part in the foundation laying ceremony of the new building and tower of the Shusha TV and Radio Broadcasting Station on November 7, 2021. By the November 7, 2021 presidential order, 200,000 manats were initially allocated to the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport from the funds provided in the state budget for 2021 for the reconstruction and restoration of the territories liberated from occupation in order to design and build the Shusha TRS. The ministry said that out of the 494,000 manats needed for the design, the initial 200,000 manats were paid to the Baku State Design Institute, which began design work. The financial resources necessary for the construction of the station will be determined after the preparation of the project."

Yesterday a meeting dedicated to the results of the first quarter of 2022 was held under the chairmanship of the Azerbaijani president. Speaking at the meeting, the president also spoke about the TV tower in Shusha.

"The foundation of a new TV tower has been laid in Shusha, and the project will probably be presented in the near future. As soon as it is presented, funds must be allocated," he said.
