Azerbaijan Sets Target for Transition to Electric Stoves in Residential Buildings

Azerbaijan Sets Target for Transition to Electric Stoves in Residential Buildings
22.10.2026 14:00

Azerbaijan is planning a phased transition from natural gas cooking appliances to electric stoves across residential buildings, according to the "Long-Term Low-Emission Development Strategy of Azerbaijan". The policy framework targets transitioning residential households to electric stoves by 2035, supported by the integration of renewable energy sources to power domestic appliances across both urban and rural communities.

Under the comprehensive roadmap, the national share of electric stoves across all building stock is projected to hit 100% by 2060. Concurrently, installing electric stoves will be established as a mandatory compliance standard for all newly constructed residential buildings.
