World Bank issues $140 mln loan to Azerbaijan for roads

The World Bank has decided to issue a $140 million loan to finance a road repair project in Azerbaijan, the bank said on Tuesday.
   
The loan will help modernise the Baku-Shamakhi highway and  support a programme of technical service and management of highways in Azerbaijan, the bank said in a statement.
   
The project's total cost is estimated at $155.5 million, of which $15.5 million is to be financed by the Azeri government.
