Kocharyan remained behind bars

The Court of Appeal of Armenia left the former president of the country Robert Kocharyan under arrest, prosecutor Vahagn Muradyan told reporters today, RIA Novosti reports.
'The Court of Appeal rejected Kocharyan's advocate's petition and upheld the decision of the court of
first instance to arrest him,' said Muradyan.
Earlier, the lawyer of the ex-president Ruben Sahakyan told reporters that the
defence demanded his release from the Court of Appeal. According to him, the president is inviolable and there is no sound evidence to support his guilt.
