Ombudswoman appeals to int’l community over massacres in Karabakh villages

Azerbaijani Ombudswoman Sabina Aliyeva has addressed the international community over the 30th anniversary of the massacres committed by Armenians in the villages of Malibayli and Gushchular of Shusha District, reported from statement:
"Throughout history, the policy of ethnic cleansing and genocide, pursued by Armenia against Azerbaijanis, has resulted in a massacre of civilians. Among the victims of this smeary policy directed against humanity were the peaceful Azerbaijani families living in the villages of Malibayli and Gushchular. On February 10-12, 1992, Armenian armed formations, having committed genocide in the villages of Malibayli, Ashagi Gushchular, and Yukhari Gushchular of Shusha District, killed about 50 peaceful Azerbaijanis, including children, women, and the elderly, burned these villages to the ground.
"Inspired by impunity, the Armenian armed formations did not stop at what they had committed and continued their crimes, massacring civilian Azerbaijani population in Garadagli, Agdaban and one of the most monstrous crimes in its cruelty - the Khojaly genocide. I hope that the members of the Armenian armed formations and the military-political leadership of Armenia will soon be brought to international legal responsibility."
