Vitaliy Mutko: Russia will not host European Games-2019

Russia's Sports Minister Vitaliy Mutko has ruled out the possibility of hosting the European Games-2019 in Russia.

"Russia will not host European Games-2019.

Firstly, the schedule of the largest sporting events in Russia has already been set up.

Secondly, the current economic situation and the political situation are not satisfactory to host such large-scale events.

Representatives of the executive committee of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) can express their own opinion, any suggestions. But I repeat: we will not host this competition," "All Sports" agency quotes Mutko's words, Oxu.az reports.

EOC Executive Committee in November 2015 announced that the only candidate for hosting the second European Games-2019 is Russia.

The first European Games were held in Baku in 2015.
