Ambassador of the State of Israel to the Republic of Azerbaijan Dan Stav has received Caspian Energy’s delegation headed by President and Editor-in-Chief of Caspian Energy International Media Group Natalya Aliyeva.

In the course of the meeting the sides discussed different topics of cooperation within the framework of the Caspian European Club (Caspian Business Club) and Caspian Energy International Media Group, as well as possibilities of expansion of contacts on the informational level.

According to the Ambassador, the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC) is a very important project. "It is not only a project of regional scale. It also has a global significance as energy remains the major source that human beings are depending on”, he underscored.

"Europe is an important gas consumer, especially when concerns due to the global warming are on the agenda. Gas is very important in this aspect. Azerbaijan has a strategic location in order to play an important role in supplying Europe, one of the important economic centers globally. We are watching with great interest the process of development of the SGC project. Israel will start producing gas for export in the coming years. Accordingly, an issue of Israel’s joining in the SGC project, especially TANAP, will be duly considered. Therefore, the matter of energy is of the same importance for us”, the Ambassador emphasized.

Dan Stav stated that Israel watches the economic reforms implemented by President Ilham Aliyev with a great interest. "We think that a decision about diversification of economy is important especially amid the oil price decline. Israel, as a friendly country, can also offer mutual cooperation in the field of development of small and medium business”, Ambassador stated and noted that there are lots of areas for the development of the Azerbaijani-Israeli cooperation.

"We delivered all information about innovations, change of policy and regulation in Azerbaijan to relevant institutions in Israel, especially to the Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Great opportunities are opened for Israeli companies in this context. There are sectors providing such opportunities, for instance, in the agricultural sector. I think that there very good conditions, rich soil, water resources, diverse climate and hard working people in Azerbaijan. I assume that our advanced technologies and experience along with splendid knowledge of qualities of soils can promote prosperity of agriculture of Azerbaijan”, Dan Stav said.

At the end of the meeting Dan Stav gave an exclusive interview to Caspian Energy. In the course of the interview he touched the possibility of developing bilateral relations, expansion of economic and investment cooperation, spoke about prospects of development of the energy market, as well as touched the issue of development of cooperation in the field of tourism and energy.
