The swift and top-notch quality construction of the International Airport in Fuzuli District is an example of efficient leadership in executing the public funds, US political scientist and expert in international relations Peter Tase told.

He noted that this megaproject illustrates the strategic focus of Baku towards the versatile development of the liberated regions.

According to the expert, the International Airport in Fuzuli has tremendous importance in the economic development of this territory of Azerbaijan.

"It will have a positive impact on the strengthening of the tourism industry and increase the international presence of Agricultural and Food commodities that are proudly manufactured in Azerbaijan," Peter Tase said.

He noted that owing to the airport, the local people will have the opportunity to fly to other national or international destinations by purchasing affordable airline tickets, as well as establish local business with traditional food and artwork that would satisfy the cultural interests and taste receptors of foreign visitors interested in discovering attractive cultural, archaeological sites of Azerbaijan.

Peter Tase added that Baku, under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, is showing to the world that it is a trusted trade partner and offers excellent opportunities to conduct profitable international commercial projects.

"'Victory Road' [the road to Shusha] is the artery of a constantly growing economy. It is remarkable to note that Azerbaijan's Shusha city will become a major cultural center, and its historical heritage will attract so many visitors that will make it the most attractive crown jewel in Europe's map of tourism destinations," the expert said.
