In January–August 2026, Azerbaijan exported 5,484 tons of AI-92 motor gasoline worth $4.45 million. According to calculations based on State Statistical Committee data, this represents a 9% decrease in value and a 15% drop in volume compared to the same period in 2025.

During the reporting period, shipments to Georgia reached 3,414 tons valued at $2.77 million, exceeding last year's figures by 3.4 times in value and 3 times in volume.

Deliveries were also made to two markets with no exports in the prior-year period: 1,951 tons worth $1.59 million were shipped to Armenia, and 119.7 tons worth $95.7 thousand went to Tajikistan—marking the first supplies to the country in 16 years.

At the same time, imports of AI-92 gasoline into Azerbaijan dropped sharply over the eight-month period. The country imported 3,919 tons worth $2.89 million, down 95.5% in value and 95.3% in volume year-on-year. Russia accounted for the bulk of imports with 3,414 tons valued at $2.56 million (a decline of about 95%). An additional 505.1 tons worth $328.3 thousand was imported from Iraq, also marking the first deliveries from the country in 16 years.
