Cunning ISIS terrorists ARE among millions of refugees flocking to Europe

Refugees were named among the ISIS attackers behind the Paris atrocities on Friday the 13th, and Syria has now confirmed that fighters are cynically capitalising on the humanitarian crisis to travel to Europe.

Asked whether Europeans should fear refugees from Syria, Assad told Czech television: "It's a mixture. The majority, they are good Syrians, they are patriots. But of course you have infiltration of terrorists among them, that is true."

Hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees have already reached Europe this year, often without documents, sparking fears that Islamic militants may be among them.

The UK is on red alert following the Paris attacks, with the Government committed to rehousing 20,000 refugees in Britain.

ISIS's attack on Paris heightened calls in the EU for more controls on people arriving.

Two of the attackers had their fingerprints taken while travelling through Greece in October, a Paris prosecutor said.

One was identified as Ahmad al-Mohammad from a Syrian passport found near his body, although it was not clear whether the passport was genuine or stolen.

Turkey promised to help stem the flow of migrants to Europe in return for cash, visas and renewed talks on joining the EU, in a deal struck on Sunday.

Millions have been displaced by the Syrian civil war, with Germany taking in a huge number of refugees.

But violent scenes have ensued on the borders of countries less open to refugees, with Hungary among those to shut borders at various points.

It emerged that the Paris attacks mastermind Abdelhamid Abaaoud had made at least four trips across Europe in 18 months, calling into question the efficiency of border checks.

The UK is set to hold a referendum on its membership of the EU by 2017, with the open borders detailed in the Schengen agreement set to be a central debating point.
