Snake attempts to swallow WHOLE possum nearly twice its size

Yet despite the obvious size difference, the snake continues undeterred.

In the incredible footage – thought to be from Australia, the reptile's jaw can be seen covering the front half of the possum stretching its skin.

The person who filmed the gruesome clip and posted it to Youtube said: "I’ve never seen this before."

Another person heard in the video said the snake had been "fooling around with the possum before" and had "let it go" before beginning to eat it again.

After writhing around and angling itself in various positions, it eventually succeeds in consuming the dead animal.

Now this Christmas dinner puts our turkey roast to shame.
