ISIS unleashes revenge killing spree after losing key stronghold

ISIS unleashes revenge killing spree after losing key stronghold
28.05.2020 22:45
ISIS – which is also known as Daesh – has reportedly slaughtered hundreds of men, women and children in retaliation for losing the city of Ramadi, west of Iraqi capital Baghdad.

The apocalyptic death cult – maddened by a series of reverses – executed 30 of its members aged under 16 who fled Ramadi under fire from RAF jets.

Iraqi TV is reporting it butchered civilians in a village in the al-Qiara district of Nineveh province, Iraq, on Monday – the day after Ramadi fell.

And a mass grave containing 120 bodies has been uncovered in a village north of Daesh's de facto Iraqi capital Mosul.

The villagers in al-Qiara had forced Daesh into retreat several months ago – but the militants returned to renew their atrocities there.

In Mosul – a city in northern Iraq twice the size of Birmingham – militants executed two teachers for refusing to teach their twisted curriculum.

A local imam – or mosque leader – was killed for refusing to pledge allegiance to the group.

The mass grave north west of Mosul contained the bodies of villagers and military personnel.

The bloodbath might be a sign of ISIS's desperation as the tide of the bloody war – which has claimed more than a quarter of a million lives – appears to be turning.

Ten ISIS leaders – including two linked to the Paris attacks – have been killed in air strikes in the past month.

Mosul – which was taken as Daesh swept across a third of Iraq last year – is the next target for the Iraqi army, aided by the US and Britain.
