Who ISIS are really scared of – and it's not the West

Israel is the nation jihadists believe will become a thorn in their side during its brutal rampage, according to the man who spent 10 days with the terror group.

Jurgen Todenhofer interviewed ISIS extremists during a stint Syria and the Iraqi city of Mosul last year.

The 75-year-old claims all the might of Russia, France, the UK and the US will not faze the bloodthirsty cult – but its fighters fear the Israeli army the most.

Mr Todenhofer, the author of My 10 Days in the Islamic State, told the Jewish News: "They think they can defeat US and UK ground troops, who they say they have no experience in city guerrilla or terrorist strategies.

"But they know the Israelis are very tough as far as fighting against guerrillas and terrorists.

"They are not scared of the British and the Americans, they are scared of the Israelis and told me the Israeli army is the real danger.

"We can’t defeat them with our current strategy.

"In Mosul there are 10,000 fighters living among 1.5million people in 2,000 apartments, not in one place – so it would be difficult (for western soldiers) to fight them. ISIS fighters are ready to die in a war against western soldiers."

It comes as parts of Europe was placed on lockdown over fears a terminally ill woman is planning a terror attack.

Cops are searching for the 21-year-old – only named as Oygul M – and believe she is planning to enter Russian territory under cover of being a Syrian refugee.

But the ISIS rampage could be short lived after Iraqi prime minsiter Haider al-Abadi vowed the jihadist group will be "terminated" in the country in the next year.

He said the regime – also known as Daesh – will see the city of Mosul liberated from the grip of ISIS in 2016.
