World's BEST countries revealed… - LIST

Today, the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, released the comprehensive list ranking countries from 24 categories.

These included power, influence, raising children and cultural influence.

Only Germany and Canada managed to outgun Britain – finishing first and second respectively.

Drawn up by U.S. News and World Report, the list surveys over 16,000 people from 36 countries across the Americas, Asia, Europe and Africa.

Mortimer Zuckerman, editor-in-chief of U.S. News, said: "Just as we have done with universities, hospitals and other institutions, our Best Countries portal will be a global homepage.

"It will help citizens, business leaders and governments evaluate performance in a rapidly changing world."

The United States ranked first in power and influence, France took the top prize for cultural influence while Brazil topped the polls for adventure.

But in the end, no country could better Germany.
