Unseen new footage reveals tyrant Colonel Gaddafi's final moments

The fallen Libyan leader can be heard pleading for mercy while drenched in blood pouring from wounds on his head.

Seconds later Gaddafi meets his maker after being shot in the head with his own gold-plated gun.

The film was captured by rebel fighter Ayman Almani on his phone in April 2011.

And the former rebel had no sympathy for Gaddafi while watching the footage back.

Mr Almani insisted: "He deserved it."

"Islam teaches us not to mistreat a prisoner, not to bear a grudge.

"But the people got carried away in the stampede and no one could stop them.”

The shocking scenes emerged after BBC reporter Gabriel Gatehouse tracked down Mr Almani.

He revealed that he still has the gun which ended Gaddafi’s life and later became a symbol of Libyan revolution.

Mr Almani insisted he did not pull the trigger and had nothing to do with the lynching of the despot.

He claims he simply found the weapon on the ground.

But Gaddafi loyalists are not convinced and routinely send Mr Almani death threats, he revealed.

He hopes the new footage will prove he was not responsible the dictator’s demise.
