Fears ISIS jihadis have gained advanced new weapons after ‘shooting down fighter jet’

Fears ISIS jihadis have gained advanced new weapons after ‘shooting down fighter jet’
17.02.2016 11:30
The Libyan plane – which was carrying out a bombing campaign against ISIS Jihadis and other militants in the region – was downed by anti-aircraft guns.

The depraved death cult – also known as Daesh – later claimed their fighters shot down the plane according to specialist intelligence analysts.

The downed jet is believed to have been bombing the (Mujahideen) Shura Council – a mix of several Islamist terror groups with close ties to Al-Qaeda.

Meanwhile the pilot is reported to have landed safely after ejecting from the plane’s cockpit – but his whereabouts are currently unknown.

Initial reports from ISIS linked news outlets have claimed the vile terror cell are looking for any survivors of the crash.

Libyan air force chief of staff Saqr al-Jaroushi said the army is beginning investigations to see if "terrorists have acquired new weapons capable of shooting down our planes".

It comes as warped Islamic state terrorists scramble towards the African country – moving away from Syria following the huge international bombing campaign.

British ISIS fighters are thought to be among those streaming into Libya as the group lose ground and resources in the Middle East.

Omar Hussain – nicknamed the Supermarket Jihadi because he was once a security guard at Morrisons in High Wycombe – is one of those believed to have travelled to the country.

He wrote a message to his followers calling on them to join him in Libya and "be part of those who build the Khilafah [caliphate] with skulls, bones and blood".
