Twisted ISIS fanatics ‘set to use drones to bomb Europe’s stadiums’

It is "only a matter of time” before depraved ISIS terrorists unleash the unmanned devices on sports events, according to experts.

The sick death cult are already using dozens of drones in Iraq and Syria.

But it could could use sleeper cells or lone wolves to attack European stadiums, according to think tank Open Briefing.

The group’s chief executive Chris Abbott said: "ISIS are already using drones in Iraq and Syria for intelligence gathering, quite successfully for battlefield awareness.

"They are in direct competition now with al Qaeda and are desperate to launch a mass casualty attack on Western targets.”

He feared the drones could be used to attack big crowds at events such as the Super Bowl.

The death cult could even fit drones with cameras to film the horrific atrocities.

Mr Abbott warned there is no single measure to stop drone attacks.

Instead he encouraged authorities to screen people who own drones.

A single device could carry up to 10kg of explosives or even a suicide vest.

He said: "Unfortunately if you have to resort to shooting them out of the sky in an urban environment or at a packed stadium the risk of collateral damage is very high.”

Last month fears were raised that drones could be used by the twisted terror cell to target Prime Minister David Cameron.

The report from Oxford Research said drones could "suggest scenarios for future lone wolf attacks".

In October 2014 a football match was abandoned after activists flew a drone carrying an nationalist flag over the pitch.

Riot police had to restore calm as Serbia and Albania players brawled during the Euro 2016 qualifier.
