ISIS kill teen girls for having sex with older men – who only got 50 lashes

The terrorist group — commonly known as Daesh — stoned Hasna, 17, and Madiha, 16, to death in Syria as hundreds watched.

"The execution took place in the Hamidiya district of Deir ez-Zor on Tuesday afternoon, where hundreds of people gathered to witness the stoning of the two young girls," local activist Ahmed Ramadan told ARA News.

The ISIS-led Sharia Court of law said in a statement that the two teenagers were caught in a house "with two strangers".

Sharia law is a set of rules that governs Islamic states.

It is based on religious teachings found in the Islamic holy book the Koran.

As well as sex outside of marriage, illegal activities include smoking, drinking alcohol and eating certain types of meat.

And ISIS-led courts are dealing out punishments for breaking the law with increasing brutality

In this instance the court heard an investigation led by Sharia officials decided that the girls would be killed for their role in the crime.

Ramadan said the girls were charged with committing adultery with two older men, identified by the court as Abu Zubair al-Idlbi and Maher Hameed.

But while the girls were publicly executed, the men were handed a lighter sentence of 50 lashes each.

They were flogged by ISIS jihadis in central Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.

Ramadan said that the decision by the courts had caused uproar among residents in the town.

Locals considered it "unfair to kill the two girls by stoning and merely flog the men and set them free," he added.

The internationally community was disgusted when footage emerged late last year of a 19-year-old being stoned for having sex with her fiancé in Afghanistan — where capital punishment is still legal.

Life for young women appears particularly tough in ISIS' so-called caliphate.

A youngster has described what it was like living as part of ISIS after she was rescued from Syria last week.
