North Korea vows to 'burn New York to the ground' in chilling new H-bomb threat

The secretive nation launched a widely-condemned missile test last week in its latest show of strength. 

And North Korea claims to have carried out a successful H-bomb test in January. 

The state-run media outlet DPRK – which stands for the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea – boasted of the country possessing nukes more devastating than those developed by the former Soviet Union.

The report said: "Our hydrogen bomb is much bigger than the one developed by the Soviet Union.

"If this H-bomb were to be mounted on an intercontinental ballistic missile and fall on Manhattan in New York City, all the people there would be killed immediately and the city would burn down to ashes.”

Tensions heightened over the weekend after a North Korean submarine went missing amid joint military drills between the US and South Korea. 

The bonkers leader ordered the country to boost its nuclear weaponry after watching the nation’s latest round of missile testing. 

Earlier this month cheese-loving Jong-un said North Korean scientists have developed warheads that can be mounted onto ballistic missiles.
