French cops arrest 'ISIS-supporting taxi driver and find explosives at home'

Officers arrested the 22-year-old male and his 20-year-old passenger after stopping the vehicle in Sucy-en-Brie, Val-de-Marne, near Paris yesterday.

Cards, passports and driving licenses stolen during a robbery were found onboard the car, according to French publication L'Express.

But an extensive search of the man's home reportedly uncovered four sticks of dynamite and two detonators.

French broadcaster Europe 1 reported how the explosives were poorly stored and could have triggered an explosion.

A source close to the case claimed documents suggesting "radicalisation" were seized, suggesting a photo of an ISIS flag was found on the suspect's phone.

It is thought the suspect would rob his customers after dropping them off.

The arrest comes days after ISIS fanatic Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel killed 84 people and injured more than 100 after mowing them down during Bastille Day celebrations in Nice.ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack, which unfolded on the Promenade des Anglais.

Last night, a 17-year-old refugee from Afghanistan carried out a sickening attack with an axe on a busy commuter train in Germany, injuring 21 people.

The attack was carried out "in response to calls to target nations in the coalition fighting the Islamic State", a statement issued by ISIS's media arm al-Amaq.

The statement released on Twitter said: "Individual who carried out the axe attack in Germany was a soldier of the Islamic State who executed the operation in response to calls to target nations in the coalition fighting the Islamic State."
