Six long-range bombers flew from Russia to the Middle East and launched a "concentrated strike" on two ISIS compounds in Syria.

The death toll has not been released but Kremlin top dogs at the Ministry of Defense confirmed they had wiped out "ISIS manpower and military equipment".

Russian president Vladimir Putin called on the world to strike back against the death cult after the Bastille Day massacre in Nice which left 84 dead.

The Tupolev-22M3 long-range bombers took off from their base in Russia and cruised across the region before striking newly uncovered ISIS bases in Palmyra, Syria.

This marks the third hammer blow from Russia since the jihadis downed a Kremlin chopper and killed the two pilots.

The planes laid waste to the targets as Russia appears to be ramping up its military power in the region – with Putin pledging the send their mightiest warship to the Med by the end of the year.

A spokesman for the Kremlin said: "On July 21 at 05:00 am, Moscow time, six Tu-22M3 long-range bombers delivered another combined strike on newly detected IS facilities east of Palmyra, as well as in the areas of the cities Es-Sukhne, Arak, Et-Teibe in the Homs province.

"According to the objective monitoring data, the airstrike destroyed two command posts of the terrorists, IS manpower and military equipment in a shelter.

"The Sukhoi Su-35 fighter jets that took off from the Hmeymim airbase provided fighter cover to the long-range bombers."
