Erdogan urges EU to decide on Turkey membership till year-end

Erdogan noted that the referendum on Turkey’s entry into the EU will be held in 2017.

Earlier, he noted that the EU is repelling Ankara from itself by prolonging the process of Turkey’s accession.

"If the EU is not willing to accept Turkey into its ranks, then this should be declared openly,” said Erdogan.

Ankara applied for the EU membership in 1987, but negotiations on its accession began only in 2005.
