Curfew cancelled in Turkish province

Curfew cancelled in Turkish province
15.11.2016 13:31
A curfew announced March 14 in Turkey’s southeastern Sirnak Province has been cancelled, the Turkish Interior Ministry said in a message November 14.

According to the message, the curfew was introduced after the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) intensified its activity there.

The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has continued for more than 30 years and has claimed more than 40,000 lives.

The UN and the European Union list the PKK as a terrorist organization.
