ISIL wants to spread fear through video: Deputy PM

Kurtulmuş warned journalists and social media users to refrain from sharing the video and said it only served terror purposes to "demoralize the Turkish public.”

According to Daily Sabah, terror groups were "vile mechanisms” and were seeking to "spread desperation” through fear, he said.

"There is still no clear information from our armed forces and our defense ministry to confirm these video images. If we had verified information, we would share it with the public. These terrorist groups are the lowest gutter operators in the world, they try to oppress people’s minds with fear” he added.

 

"Some of our friends need to watch their steps.  Social media is not the place for irresponsible publications. Turkey at the moment is in a de-facto war with Daesh (ISIL),” he said.

 

Opposition parties have called on the government to issue a statement.

Earlier, Defense Minister Fikri Işık had confirmed that three Turkish soldiers were currently in the hands of ISIL.
