11.02.2022 16:30
Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken have agreed to closely cooperate on the situation around Ukraine, reported from the Japanese Foreign Ministry.

"They confirmed that they are closely following the situation in Ukraine with serious concern. Japan and the US will closely coordinate their actions on this issue,” the official told reporters at a briefing after Hayashi and Blinken’s bilateral meeting in Australia.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (QUAD) countries (Australia, India, Japan and the US) in Melbourne.

According to Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne, the main issues of the meeting will be climate change, coronavirus and opposition to China’s policy in the Indo-Pacific region. The Ukrainian crisis will also be touched upon.
