Richest Russians lose $83B

The combined fortune of Russia’s richest billionaires has fallen by $83 billion since the beginning of the year, with Lukoil co-owner Vagit Alekperov the biggest loser, whose fortune has fallen by $14 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI), reported from RIA Novosti.
The index is calculated based on the value of shares of companies in which billionaires own stakes. For some companies, the calculation is based on the ratio of their capitalization to EBITDA or share price to earnings per share. In total, the BBI ranking includes the 500 richest people in the world.
The list now includes 21 citizens of the Russian Federation. Their total fortune as of March 1 was $274.07 billion.
