Russia records over 40,000 COVID cases per day

Over the past day, medical experts recorded 41,055 new cases of coronavirus infection in Russia, down 8.74% from a day earlier, reported from Russian media.

The total number of registered cases in the country has reached 17,376,241 since the pandemic onset.

To date, a total of 361,344 people died due to COVID-related health complications in Russia, including 533 deaths seen over the past day. The number of recoveries is 15,585,650.

More than 458.6 million people globally have contracted the virus since the onset of the pandemic. The deadly pathogen has claimed over 6.06 million lives, though unable to cope with 392.04 millionpatients, who managed to recover.
