Over 1,000 doctors from Germany intend to travel to Ukraine

Over 1,100 doctors from Germany have registered on the website of the Medical Association to travel to Ukraine and neighboring countries to help the sick and wounded, said the president of the association, Klaus Reinhardt, reported from TASS.
"The figures show how great the solidarity of doctors with the people of Ukraine is. After all, work there can be life-threatening,” he said. At the same time, Reinhardt added that the German Medical Association is currently negotiating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health and the embassies of Ukraine and neighboring states on how best to accommodate doctors.
In this regard, he stressed that doctors working on Ukrainian territory should be guaranteed safety. Requests from neighboring countries, according to the head of the association, have not yet been received. "However, we are ready. As soon as the government announces the need for international humanitarian missions, we will be able to find a sufficient number of doctors,” Reinhardt concluded.
