Ukrainian Presidential Office comments on events in Transnistrian region

Oleksiy Arestovich, an adviser to the head of Ukraine’s presidential office, commented on the events in the Transnistrian region of Moldova, reported from RBC Ukraine.
"Moldova is our closest neighbor. We cannot remain indifferent to its fate. We have always stood by the people of Moldova. Transnistria is a sovereign territory of Moldova. If they apply to us, we can take control of that area,” he said.
Earlier, it was reported that Russian troops in Transnistria were put on alert after incidents of explosions and shelling. Kyiv believes that Moscow wants to use the region in the war against Ukraine with such provocations.
