Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency has allowed two Russian airlines to operate flights to Azerbaijani cities, reported from the Russian media.

The Russian company Azimut will plan to carry out flights from Moscow to Lankaran and Gabala.

In addition, the airline may operate flights from Mineralnye Vody to Ganja. The Russian airline IrAero will also conduct regular flights from Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, and Kazan to Baku.

It is not yet known when the flights will be operated and how many times a week.

Azimut currently operates flights to Baku from the Russian cities of Mineralnye Vody, Astrakhan, and Sochi. IrAero conducts twice-a-week flights from Moscow to Fuzuli International Airport and Zagatala. In addition, IrAero has started international flights on the Novosibirsk-Baku-Novosibirsk route from May 20.
