UN releases its latest report on civilian casualties in Ukraine

UN releases its latest report on civilian casualties in Ukraine
20.07.2022 13:30
"Until now, as a result of Russia's military intervention in Ukraine, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) recorded 11,800 civilian casualties in the country: 5,100 killed and 6,520 injured, including 346 children," Deputy Spokesman for the Secretary-General Farhan Haq said.

He said that the actual number of civilian casualties published in the latest report of the UN human rights monitoring mission in Ukraine is likely to be higher.

"The UN is extremely concerned about the growing number of reports of outside attacks on civilians in Ukraine. Parties to the conflict must comply with their obligations under international humanitarian law to protect civilians and infrastructure in Ukraine," Farhan Hag stressed.
