Zakharova: Moscow contributes to preparation of Armenian-Azerbaijani peace treaty

Moscow is making an active contribution to the preparation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace treaty, the Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.
According to her, Igor Khovaev, special representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry for promoting the normalization of relations between Baku and Yerevan, "holds regular consultations with the parties to search for common ground, and reach mutually beneficial basic principles."
Zakharova stressed Moscow's readiness to hold the second meeting of the Baku-Yerevan border commission.
"The delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is also an important part of Russian mediation efforts to improve the dialogue between our Transcaucasian neighbors. We are always ready to receive our Armenian and Azerbaijani friends on the territory of Russia. We are convinced that the unique professional capabilities and competences of our country in the issue of delimitation and demarcation in the post-Soviet space can significantly strengthen security at the border and in the region as a whole. Baku and Yerevan will determine the specific dates for holding certain events. We will inform you after they make a decision in this regard," Zakharova said.
