Korotchenko: Return of Lachin under Azerbaijan's control provided for by tripartite statement

The return of Lachin under Azerbaijan's control is provided for by a tripartite statement dated November 10, 2020, military expert, editor-in-chief of the Natsionalnaya Oborona magazine Igor Korotchenko is quoted.

The Russian expert noted that the skilful combination of Azerbaijan's diplomatic and military decisions forced the Armenian side to fulfill what it undertook: "It came true due to the fact that Azerbaijan was fully committed to its obligations and, through its diplomatic and military decisions, pushed Yerevan to fulfill its obligations from the Armenian side."

The political scientist said that further it will be necessary to resolve the issue with the Zangazur transport corridor: "The issue related to the Zangazur corridor has already matured. It is obvious that there should be an extraterritorial corridor where there should be no Armenian border guards and customs officers, and the legal regime of the Zangazur corridor should be in line with the legal regime of the Lachin corridor," he said.

According to Korotchenko, there is work ahead that will lead to the quick result, to peace and stability, but there is still much to be done.
