US diplomat: Washington will never recognize any efforts by Russia to change Ukraine's borders by force

The United States will never recognize any efforts by Russia to change Ukraine's borders by force, US Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield told a session of the UN Security Council.

She claims that Moscow is preparing to hold referenda on the entry of regions of Ukraine under Russian control into the Russian Federation.

These referenda will attempt to create a false semblance of legality and public support, so Russia feels it can annex Kherson, Zaporizhzhzhia, and other regions of Ukraine, Thomas-Greenfield said.

"Of course, we will never recognize any efforts by Russia to change Ukraine’s borders by force," the diplomat said.
