Russia ready to act as mediator between Turkiye and Syria, says deputy FM

Russia is ready to become a platform for a meeting between the foreign ministers of Turkiye and Syria, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said, reported from TASS. 

He said that Russia is always ready for contact with the United States on the issue of Syria: "Washington avoids political contact with us on this issue."

Earlier, there were reports that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad may hold a tripartite meeting.
