The holding of the NATO summit in July 2023 will cost Lithuania 38 million euros, reported from the press service of the Latvian Foreign Ministry.

It was originally planned that the cost of hosting the summit would amount to 30 million euros, but the amount was recalculated. It is noted that most of these funds are at the disposal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, about a third will be allocated to the Security Service of the leadership, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Defense of Latvia.

The Foreign Ministry noted that preparations for the summit are proceeding according to the plan approved by the government working group. Procurement is being carried out, logistics are being planned, and contracts are being concluded with service providers.

Delegations from 40 countries are expected to attend the summit.
