Georgia expects tourism revenue to exceed $3B in 2022

Revenues received by Georgia in the tourism sector will exceed $3 billion by the end of 2022, Deputy Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili said, reported from TASS.
"This indicator directly affects the creation of new jobs and the improvement of the well-being of local residents,” she noted.
At a meeting of the Executive Committee of the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), she said that the reason to expect such income is the fact that Georgia managed to 100% restore pre-pandemic profits in tourism.
The 117th meeting of the UNWTO Executive Committee is being held in Morocco, where topical issues in the field of tourism and travel are discussed.
