Complete blackout in Ukraine may lead to disaster, warns UN official

A complete blackout in Ukraine would lead to a disaster, Denise Brown, the UN resident and humanitarian coordinator in Ukraine, told Der Spiegel.

"The need to help an entire country of 40 million may be beyond the opportunities of the humanitarian community. In this case, we should think together about what to do,” she added.

The coordinator also noted that nearly 2,000 humanitarian workers are in Ukraine.
