WP: Zelenskyy failed to agree on provision of modern weapons during US visit

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy failed to achieve the goal of his visit to the United States and obtain more modern weapons.

Reported from The Washington Post that the results of Zelenskyy's trip to Washington were evaluated by several American media columnists.

The authors draw attention to the divergence in the views of US President Joe Biden and Zelenskyy on the military needs of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian president and his advisers are said to continue to press for Washington to send advanced weapons that Biden is unwilling to provide.

According to the article, it is also not excluded that Zelenskyy's goal was to get more powerful weapons and increase Ukraine's ability to launch major offensive operations.

In turn, Washington, including Biden, expected discussions around diplomacy and the possibility of negotiations with Russia, the newspaper writes.
