US discusses Kyiv's peace plan with Europe and Ukraine

Over the past few weeks, US officials have been discussing Kyiv's proposals to resolve the conflict with European and Ukrainian officials, reported from Politico.

According to the information, the discussions are being held in this format despite the Washington administration's public statements that the solution to the conflict in Ukraine will be determined by the Ukrainians themselves. The parties are discussing, in particular, what should be the cessation of hostilities and whether it is possible to discuss in more detail the proposals of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the winter.

The issue of a peaceful settlement presents difficulties for the American side. US officials acknowledge that support for the war effort cannot continue indefinitely and "tangible steps" must be taken to end the conflict diplomatically.

On Wednesday, the President of Ukraine said that he had discussed Kyiv's proposals to resolve the Ukrainian conflict with US President Joe Biden at a meeting at the White House, and that the US leader supported his idea of holding a summit to discuss these proposals.
