UN announces Guterres' readiness to mediate in Ukrainian conflict

UN announces Guterres' readiness to mediate in Ukrainian conflict
27.12.2022 10:00
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is ready to mediate in the conflict in Ukraine only if all parties agree, the office of the Secretary General said, commenting on Kyiv's initiative to hold a "peace summit" at the UN by the end of February.

Reported from TASS that the initiative voiced by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba provides for the possible participation of the head of the world organization as an intermediary.

As the Secretary General has repeatedly stated in the past, he can mediate only if all parties want him to mediate, the UN said.
