Netanyahu says Israel's new cabinet will continue to counter Iran's nuclear program

Netanyahu says Israel's new cabinet will continue to counter Iran's nuclear program
28.12.2022 18:30
Likud leader Benjamin Netanyahu said that the new Israeli Cabinet will continue to work on the elimination of Iran's nuclear program to prevent Tehran from obtaining nuclear weapons, reported from Israeli media.

The new government will also work to strengthen the status of Jerusalem and maintain the status quo in religious matters, he said.

The swearing-in of Israel's new Cabinet is set for December 29.

Earlier, Netanyahu, having won the parliamentary elections as part of the right-wing coalition, asked Israeli President Isaac Herzog to give him more time to form the Cabinet.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said at the annual J Street conference that the United States would continue to support Israel despite sharp disagreements with the country's new government, led by Prime Minister Netanyahu.
