The US Embassy in Russia published an appeal to the Russians on its Twitter page, expressing solidarity with those who seek to create a peaceful future, reported from Russian media.

"We believe that what is happening is not worthy of you, and we stand in solidarity with each of you who are striving to create a more peaceful future," the embassy said in a statement.

It says that Russia and the United States are united by a common culture and achievements. In the attached video, the embassy reminds that Russian literature is taught in American schools, and Russian classical music is heard in "the most prestigious cultural institutions" in the United States.
