FIFA, Asian Football Confederation demand Iran to allow women to play

Iran may lift ban on women attending football matches involving men’s teams. FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation demand the Iranian authorities to eliminate problems in this area, Deputy Head of the Iranian Football Federation Mansour Ghanbarzadeh said, reported from IRNA.
"We promise that the Football Federation will make every effort to ensure that this just desire of the women of our country is realized in the near future,” he said, without specifying a specific time frame.
After the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979, women were unable to freely attend football matches played by men.
