Sec.-Gen.: NATO to start developing strategic multi-year program of assistance to Ukraine

NATO foreign ministers have agreed to start developing a strategic multi-year assistance program that will extend beyond the conflict in Ukraine, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said on April 5 at a press conference following a meeting of the foreign ministers of the alliance countries in Brussels, reported from TASS.
"We agreed to start developing a multi-year assistance program for Ukraine that will help bring Ukrainian forces and weapons in line with NATO standards, because the future of Ukraine belongs to the Euro-Atlantic family,” he said. At the same time, Stoltenberg didn’t give any details of the future assistance program to Ukraine.
Earlier, the secretary-general of the alliance said that the NATO countries had transferred arms to Ukraine for 65 billion euros and are now preparing a long-term program of military supplies.
