Lavrov: North-South transport corridor being actively implemented

The North-South transport corridor is being actively implemented, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a meeting with Kazakh Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu.
"North-South is being actively implemented. Upon its completion, a fast and stable connection will be formed between the Baltic Sea and the Persian Gulf, the Indian Ocean, which will significantly reduce the costs for trade throughout our Eurasian continent,” the Russian foreign minister said.
Lavrov also noted the need to deepen cooperation among the Caspian countries:
"In the Caspian area, we see as a key task the speedy implementation of the five-sided agreements that were formulated as a result of the 6th Caspian Summit and the Second Caspian Economic Forum. We proceed from the fact that regular meetings of the foreign ministers of the Caspian five will contribute to deepening cooperation in the region,” said the Russian foreign minister.
