The infrastructure construction of the military base of the NATO multinational battle group in Bulgaria will cost more than $55 million, the Bulgarian news agency reported, citing the country’s Defense Minister Todor Tagarev.

According to Tagarev, the construction of barracks, equipment storage buildings and roads will cost more than 100 million Bulgarian leva (about $55 million).

The head of the Ministry of Defense explained that Sofia has budget funds for the development of this project, but part of the necessary resources will still be provided by NATO. The location of the base has not yet been determined, but the multi-role battle group is expected to be deployed at two military bases in the Yambol region in the southeast of the country.
