Turkey's parliament passed a vote of confidence in the new government led by Ahmet Davutoglu on Sept. 6 after the debates on his program, Russian RIA Novosti news agency said.

Some 439 MPs took part in the voting on the new cabinet of ministers' program. Out of them, 306 MPs voted in favor of the program, while 133 MPs voted against it.

On Sept. 1, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu presented a program of the new cabinet of ministers and asked the parliament to hold a voting on the confidence in the new government.

Opposition parties criticized some points in the program, in particular those regarding the settlement of the Kurdish issue, the foreign policy and the problem of corruption. They stated that they will not vote in favor of the program.

Former Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan won in the first popular presidential election in Turkey on August 10, gaining 52 percent of the vote.

Erdogan's inauguration was held Aug. 28, and on the same day the former foreign minister, Ahmet Davutoglu was appointed the new prime minister of Turkey.
