Zelenskyy hopes to get military assistance from US

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy hopes for US military assistance, reported from NBC News.

Zelenskyy said in a Fox News interview that his meeting with Biden and lawmakers on Capitol Hill was "very constructive" and that he heard "positive voices from both parties."

"I spoke with senators and President Biden and with the [House] speaker," Zelenskyy told Fox News' Brett Baier this evening, adding that during his visit he has highlighted what's needed for success on the battlefield against Russia.

As Congress considers supplemental funding to Ukraine, Zelenskyy said, "I think that's it's very important not to waste time."

Following the meeting, Biden announced a $200 million aid package for Ukraine. Later, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that the package included ammunition for missile systems, air defense systems and artillery shells.

Currently, there is a discussion between the White House and the Senate about financing new aid packages for Ukraine. The US government has repeatedly stated that it is running out of money allocated for this.
