EU funds for Hungary to remain frozen despite Ukraine aid deal

EU funds for Hungary to remain frozen despite Ukraine aid deal
01.02.2024 19:30
EU funds for Hungary will remain frozen, regardless of the deal on aid for Ukraine that member states have agreed on, an EU diplomat told Reuters on Thursday, shortly after the deal was announced.

European Union leaders unanimously agreed on Thursday on an additional 50 billion euros in aid for Ukraine, overcoming weeks of Hungary's resistance.

The diplomat said Hungary would still need to fulfill its own obligations in order to be eligible to receive EU funds.
